Zinc Pyrithione is an active ingredient that is commonly used in deodorants and anti-dandruff shampoos and other hair and skincare products. It has antimicrobial and antifungal properties, making it effective in treating conditions such as dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis, eczema, and fungal infections. Zinc Pyrithione works by inhibiting the growth of fungi and bacteria that contribute to these conditions, while also helping to regulate the production of sebum on the scalp. The polarity of Zinc Pyrithione contributes to its ability to interact with water and other polar solvents, and its effectiveness as an antimicrobial agent.
