Geogard® ECT is a versatile, eco-friendly preservative blend that meets ECOCERT and COSMOS standards—making it a favorite among clean beauty formulators. It protects water-based cosmetics from microbial contamination while offering skin-friendly benefits and formulation flexibility.

This clear, liquid preservative is ideal for lotions, creams, serums, toners, and even cleansing products. It performs best in emulsions with a final pH between 3–8, offering both broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity and easy solubility.

Recommended Use & Storage

INCI Nomenclature: Benzyl Alcohol & Salicylic Acid & Glycerin & Sorbic Acid
Solubility: not completely water soluble especially in toner formulations.
pH: 3.0–8.0
Suggested Use Levels: 0.5–1.0% (by weight)
Always conduct a microbial challenge test for commercial formulations.
Storage: Protected from direct light and humidity at a temperature of 50°-77°F (10°-25°C)
Shelf life: 12 months, properly stored, in a sealed container.
This product should be added to a formulation at the recommended usage rate
